Many current music educators grew up in a time when being in an ensemble was solely about playing the music for the next concert. I personally cannot recall ever doing a worksheet or any real music theory work while in high school. It seemed that all I had to do to get an “A” was come to my lessons, play at the concerts, and otherwise stay out of trouble. Outside practice was expected but not enforced. I did not realize until many years later that this method of teaching had set me up for years of mediocrity and frustration. Read full article »

From a technical standpoint the Vernal Equinox is an astronomical event, it’s one of the four quadrature days of the Earth’s orbit. However for people both modern and ancient, the Vernal Equinox marked the transition from winter into spring. The Vernal Equinox occurs on March 20th or 21st and is one of two days during the year when there are 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness, the other day is the Autumnal Equinox. If criminal law is your passion, there is little doubt that you will be well suited for the law arenas that it enforces. For those who are looking for a major, it is wise to study this area of the law. In criminal law, The People can punish the criminal based on what he or she has done against the state. There are often less indications of victims here, but more of rules being broken. Because in criminal law, the individual has broken the governing body’s law, he or she is required to face punishment from the government. When one studies the history of Sparta, it is difficult to conclude that this society was not one of history’s strangest. Maybe due to design by a man names Lycurgus than through developing naturally.
In the last few centuries, quite a few societies have been constructed by committees, and there have been many more failures than successes. The history of Sparta can serve as an example of both a success and a failure, and it would be helpful to remember these ancient people whenever we opt to design anything, such as a business or family. The Motivating Movement Through Marathoning Challenge
Eighty-three students and teachers from seven Cleveland Schools are participating in a program designed to increase health and self-confidence. The eleven week Motivating Movement Through Marathoning Challenge is a joint program between Cleveland Schools and the Cleveland YMCA. The Motivating Movement Through Marathoning Challenge was created out of the Cleveland Department of Public Health’s nationally-funded Steps to a Healthier Cleveland program and promotes exercising particularly running and walking for in youth and continued throughout life. This program is a response to the troubling national statistics about health and obesity in the nation’s schools. Read full article »
